Biography

X. Dimitri Audirac was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and lives in Copperas Cove, Texas after a childhood of frequent moves with his Army mother. He was born with Autism. He started writing in high school after reading Tolkien and kept at it since 2019 while studying English with a Creative Writing concentration. Two poems were published in compilations in 2018 and 2019 in student contests. He writes dark and modern fantasy and psychological and cosmic thrillers influenced by Lovecraft and Campbell. He’s trying to give even a modern setting an archaic and mythic feel. His first novel, The Earth Warrior, is in progress.

 

Future Goals

            X. Dimitri Audirac’s next step is finishing The Earth Warrior and revising it until the opening can hold an agent’s attention. He is still a full-time student, so the manuscript moves in stretches rather than on a clean daily quota, but it has been moving. When the draft is ready, he plans to put up a straightforward author website and write query letters for agents. He would rather find representation than self-publish first. The two poems published in 2018 and 2019 showed him he could finish and place work. The novel is the project he wants his name attached to, and he does not plan to use a separate pen name. After the first book, he expects to stay with dark fantasy and modern fantasy mixed with cosmic and psychological dreads that interest him. Short fiction may go out to journals later if it helps the longer work, but the present job is to complete the manuscript and look organized enough so that an agent can take him seriously.
